Easy Ways to Incorporate Self Care - Alora Boutique

Easy Ways to Incorporate Self Care

This year has been challenging on most, from the pandemic to job losses, to family problems. This year, while challenging, has also become the year of self-care in many ways.

This year has been challenging on most, from the pandemic to job losses, to family problems. This year, while challenging, has also become the year of self-care in many ways.

We are taking time to ensure that we are at our best and treat ourselves with care and respect.

Even in a typical year, we all lead busy lives! Family, work, kids, house cleaning, planning events, and much more fill up our schedules. Sometimes we need to take time out of our busy days to decompress and de-stress from daily life.

 1. Take a Bath

There is something therapeutic about soaking.

During the week, many of us only have time to take a quick shower or, if we're lucky, a long shower. 😲

But nothing can compare to a bath. Lounging in the warm water, listening to music, and taking in the scent of your candle or the bath bomb you used.

Bath bombs have evolved rapidly from the cool, sparkly (and staining) products they used to be. They are now created with scents and oils designed to help you relax, de-stress, and promote sleep!

The Hemp CBD Bath Bomb in Lavish Lavender will infuse your bath with the calming aroma of fresh lavender with our essential oil-infused Lavender Bath Bomb. Not only will you get a good night's sleep due to the CBD oil, but you will feel calm and comforted as you soak.

2. Breathe

Fill your space with soothing scents

We know that mindful breathing/breathing techniques can help chill us out, but what you breathe in is as important as how you breathe! 😌

There are studies and research on the benefits of aromatherapy. Citrus scents can help to relieve stress and anxiety, and rosemary is said to help boost memory in some people.

Keep your favorite scent in your room or throughout your home. Smell is a big sense for us as people. Certain scents can trigger feelings and memories, so why not keep a scent that calms you around?

We now carry a Caribbean Teakwood Hand Poured Candle, as well as two other scents. This candle offers you a rich and luxurious combination of fresh citrus followed by a light spice note of cinnamon and clove on a warm base of amber, vanilla, and sweet woody notes.

3. Get Some Sleep

Turn off your devices

Ah, the ever-elusive sleep. 😴

When it comes time to sleep, imagine you are 12, and you're living in 2006. The t.v. only existed in the living room, you and your peers didn't have laptops, and cellphones only had T9 texting capabilities. Your bed activities included counting sheep or reading a book. Turning off your devices an hour before to bed can help you sleep better and is self-care. You're not scrolling and working yourself up with all the blue light.

But, if you're like me and you don't want to go back to 2006, try a sleeping potion! If you need help getting to sleep, shutting down your brain, or just need something to help you unwind, this product does wonders. Available in non-alcoholic, alcoholic, and CDB (packs a bigger sleeping punch).

Skimping on sleep can have long-lasting and harmful side effects on our health. Like eating, you need to do it every day and do it well.

4. Indulge in Retail Therapy

Shop! But not til you drop.

Don't worry, there is some science behind it! But even without the science, there is something about buying a new dress or bracelet that makes you feel better.

Or indulge in retail therapy that not only makes you look good but feel good too!

Many of Alora Boutique's jewelry has a meaning and story behind the piece and comes with a meaning card. We now also carry essential oil bracelets.

These bracelets soak up whatever oil you place on them, carry the meaning of the stone, and a wonderful scent with you all day long!

Take the time to give yourself some care. You can't be there for others or help them if you're not taking care of yourself first!
