This Month's Charity: Black Women in Motion

For many years, Alora Boutique has donated 5% of our profits to women-focused charities; these charities have been ones that help Calgary women. We have partnered and given to the Mustard Seed, Louise Dean School Program, and Home Front Prevention of Domestic Violence Program.

This month, in light of what is happening with the Black Lives Matter movement here and in the U.S., we have decided to donate that 5% to the charity 'Black Women in Motion.'

Black Women in Motion is a Toronto-based organization that is youth-led. It strives for the advancement of black women and sexual violence survivors through support and empowerment. They do this through their work and by providing programming such as consent education and by helping to lift the black community through their 'The Black Youth Employment Assistance Program (BYEAP).' As well as 'through collaboration with local partners and community agencies, we deliver programs and connect our clients to resources that support their needs.'
