#WCW Patricia Irvine - Alora Boutique

#WCW Patricia Irvine

At Alora, we love to celebrate women in the community who are doing great things. The aim of this #wcw campaign is to highlight the great things going on right here. People need to be appreciated so that they can carry on their good work.

We want to celebrate these women by styling them in Alora Jewelry and giving them a make over and free photo shoot!

Please let us know a little bit about yourself

I am a born & raised semi-retired Calgarian with 2 children & 7 grandchildren.  My passion is working in the Not-for-Profit sector that services women & children & dedicated to enhancing the lives of the less fortunate.  I enjoy cooking, reading, gardening, golfing, travelling & exercising.

How did you get started in this cause/line of work/career?

I have always volunteered for many causes, however after meeting my biological Father at the age of 35 & volunteering for the organization that he co-founded, Servants Anonymous Society of Calgary, my focus became working with women who struggle with addictions & sexual exploitation.

What is the most fulfilling part of your work?

Knowing that I’m making a positive difference in peoples lives.

How do you balance work, family, and other commitments?

I try to make sure that I have time for myself & nourish my spirit & prioritize.

What is something people would be surprised to know about you?

That I have 7 grandchildren & the oldest is 21 years old.

How would you describe your relationship with your family?

My Family is the heart of my soul.

What is your greatest accomplishment?

Being a Mother.

What is your greatest failure and what did you learn from it?

Divorce.  I am a strong, capable woman that can do whatever I put my heart into.

What were you doing 5 years ago? What advice would you have for yourself at that time?

Working on a new relationship with my boyfriend John.  That it’s ok to be you & to have someone love you for that.

Where do you want to be in 5 years? How do you think you will get there?

I’m grateful that my life is fabulous right now & my only hope is that I continue to have my good health, so I will continue to keep fit & enjoy life to the fullest everyday.

What piece of life advice would you give to someone who says they want to follow in your footsteps?

I live by the Four Agreements (by Don Miguel)

  • Always do your best
  • Don’t take things personally
  • Be impeccable with your word
  • Don’t make assumptions

Do you have general life advice?

Live with love in your heart & pass it on.
