Jameela Guest Judge at ATB BoostR Stage
ATB invited Jameela to be a guest judge for the ATB BoostR stage. She was joined by other amazing entrepreneurs like Shayne Perrin (owner of Dairy Lane Cafe) and Freddy Ansara (founder of FA design) and the CTO (Chief Transformation Officer of ATB, Wellington Holbrook.
The night was filled with exciting pitches by young, university entrepreneurs. Among Jameela's favourites were Shop Bemuse and waffle pops (who doesn't want a waffle on a stick?!)
One of the highlights for Jameela was to hear about Bemuse's story. She is creating an Canadian marketplace for sustainable fashion brands. This is a movement that is close to Jameela's heart and is already popular in countries like Sweden and Australia.
"I am so passionate about elevating existing brands in the sustainable fashion industry. My business evolved from a long time love for clothing, into a real business with a socially and environmentally driven cause. It is so gratifying to provided clothing options to people who appreciate quality and want to make purchase decisions that have a positive impact on the earth. We all need clothing, so why not make our clothing sustainably? My ultimate goal is to help move the fashion industry forward to exist in harmony with the environment and to help improve the lives of marginalized factory workers." - Kelsey, Founder of Bemuse.
Jameela decided to boost Kelsey and you can too at the Alberta Boostr Website.
